The one-day workshop will include classroom instruction and hands-on exercises on the proper use of ropes, blocks, and other special equipment to raise and lower electrical components, tools, and equipment. In-class discussion will offer a comprehensive review of the basics of overhead rigging, including safe rigging practices, ropes, knots and knot tying, the use of hand lines, and the use of blocks and tackle.
Participants will tie and rig using the appropriate knots, hitches, and rigging, and will install temporary anchorage and straighten a leaning pole. The workshop will also address rope and rigging inspections as well as a review of calculating tensions of slings at various angles.
Training will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..
