2024 Board of Directors Elections

MEUW is currently seeking nominations for interested individuals to serve on the association's Board of Directors for a two-year term beginning May 17, 2024. 

Nomination Period:  March 25 to April 19

Elections:  April 24 to May 8

Annual Business Meeting:  May 17     

This year's election will be for Directors and Alternate Directors in even-numbered districts. Each member utility is entitled to a single vote for seats in their respective district. 

>  To nominate someone to serve on MEUW's Board, please complete a Nomination Form   and return it to the MEUW Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 19.
The actual election will be conducted via a third-party online service with ballots submitted electronically to ElectionRunner. Additional details will be provided when the election period opens.  Each member utility is entitled to one vote, and the ballot will be sent via email to the utility's Primary Contact on file with MEUW.

Here is additional information about the MEUW election process: 
Pursuant to the Bylaws of Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin, Inc., the association shall have ten (10) District Directors, each of whom shall be elected by the Members of one (1) of the ten (10) geographical districts of the State of Wisconsin as set by the Board. Elections for District Directors shall take place prior to the association's Annual Meeting on even-numbered years for even-numbered districts, and on odd-numbered years for odd-numbered districts. Such elections shall also include an election by each District’s Members of an Alternate District Director, who will represent his/her district at meetings of the association which the elected District Director is unable to attend.

Each representative elected as a District Director shall hold office for a term of two (2) years or until such Director’s successor shall have been duly appointed or until such Director’s death, resignation or removal. The term shall run from the Annual Meeting of the Members of the association at which the Director was elected or confirmed. Directors may be reappointed or re-elected to serve more than one (1) consecutive term in office. No person shall be a member of the Board of Directors who is not an officer or employee of a Member of the association. Nor shall any person be a member of the Board of Directors if such person is associated with a municipality that has a representative who is or will be serving as an officer of the association during any time of such person’s term as a Director.
