Clarification of info shared at seminar: Debts do not need to be 90 days past due to qualify for TRIP submission. For TRIP, the determination of a past due debt is up to the agency per our statutes. "Agency is responsible for determining if a debt qualifies under Sec. 71.93, Wis. Stats. (State agencies) or Sec. 71.935, Wis. Stats. (Local government agencies) and the laws governing your debt. Check with your legal counsel to determine the eligibility of your debts." There is not a 90-day past-due requirement. There is an age requirement for State Agency TRIP debts, but utilities are Local Municipal debt. The 90-days past-due requirement does not impact utility TRIP debts, and only would apply for SDC debts submitted. |
