Job Title:
Regional Safety Coordinator
Position:
Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW), a state
association of 82 community-owned electric utilities, is seeking a
full-time Regional Safety Coordinator to assist Wisconsin municipal
employers by implementing and managing their occupational safety and
health regulatory compliance program.
Location:
The communities covered by the Regional Safety Coordinator are
primarily located in Northwest Wisconsin (near Rice Lake).
Responsibilities:
The
primary function of this position is to
ensure regulatory compliance through written programs, inspections,
risk management procedures and employee training. This position
serves municipal employees and involves regular travel to assigned
municipal employers.
Qualifications:
The successful
candidate will have a minimum of three years practical experience
working with Wisconsin and federal safety and health regulatory
compliance; demonstrate effective written and verbal communication
skills combined with excellent computer skills. The candidate must
demonstrate a proven ability to
effectively lead employees to
foster a safe work environment by focusing on overall safety issues
as well as safe job performance.
Candidates must also be motivated, organized, and able to adapt to
various types of projects and be prepared to work as part of a
safety team. Experience working in municipal government is
preferred. Completion of an Occupational Health and Safety degree or
related discipline is also preferred.
