Shawano Municipal Utilities, a state-wide leader in municipal utility service, seeks an experienced Utility General Manager to lead the overall operation of the public electric, fiber optics and start-up services of cable television, telephone and internet to all homes and businesses in Shawano area. Position is under general direction of appointed Shawano Utility Commission (SMU) and Badger Power Marketing Authority (BPMA). The community owned utilities entity (surrounding area population of approximately 15,000) is located within an hour of Green Bay, Appleton and Wausau, Wisconsin. Position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience in a responsible managerial position in an electric or utility-related field; or any combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. The candidate should have substantial working knowledge of utility operations and support functions including finance, administration, planning, and engineering. Knowledge of sound management principles and practices demonstrated leadership abilities. Candidate requires well-developed human relations and communications skills. If so, this may be the ideal position for you.  The Black River Falls Municipal Utilities needs a sharp, knowledgeable, highly motivated self-starter for a full-time Office Manager position. This position reports to the Utility Administrator and supervises an office staff responsible for electric, water, and sewer customer accounting, collection, payroll, and billing activities. In addition, the Office Manager performs a complete accounting cycle including bank statement reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, monthly and quarterly income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reporting as requested. General office technology and equipment purchase or contract management also required. Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year College or University in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Utility accounting experience a plus. A valid WI driver’s license is required. Salary $35k - $45k / year. Sheboygan Falls Utilities is currently seeking a Journeyman-level lineworker. A late-stage apprentice could also be considered. This position is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground high voltage distribution systems. High School diploma required. The City of Elroy, Wisconsin, Electric Utility is currently accepting applications for an Electric Superintendent Trainee due to the planned retirement of the current superintendent scheduled for January 2009. The utility recently completed a rebuild of 75 percent of its distribution lines and installed two new 2,250 kW generators. This position is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of overhead and underground high voltage distribution systems and generation capacity.
