 MEUW has two registered lobbyists,
Executive Director
David Benforado
and
Associate Director
Scott Meske.
They advocate on behalf of public power with guidance and input from
MEUW’s Legislative and Regulatory Committee. Additionally, MEUW
works with several other organizations including:
Customers First!
Coalition;
the
League of Wisconsin
Municipalities;
and various other local government groups and energy providers. MEUW
publishes a legislative newsletter Under the Dome every other
week during the legislative session for Members to keep updated on
what is transpiring at the State Capitol. Archived Under the Dome

STATE LEGISLATURE: MEUW monitors state
level politics for issues concerning municipal utilities, local
government, energy and energy conservation.

PUBLIC SERVICE
COMMISSION: MEUW regularly
tracks and comments on particular dockets and proceedings at the PSC
on behalf of public power utilities.

CONGRESS:
MEUW is a member of the
American Public Power Association
and supports our national positions and issues by participating in
APPA committees and groups. MEUW works with
WPPI Energy to coordinate
Wisconsin’s presence
at the APPA Legislative Rally, attended by
more than 50 public power and local elected officials from Wisconsin
each year. |
