Bangor Municipal Utility - Journeyman Lineman

Bangor Municipal Utility is looking for a full-time Journeyman Lineman. The individual hired will work as part of a four-person team responsible for day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of BMU’s municipal electric system. Background in electric system maintenance and construction along with computer skills is desired. Bangor Municipal offers a competitive wage and benefit package. A commercial driver’s license is required. Westby Electirc Utility - Journey-Level Electric Line Worker
Municipally owned Westby Electric Utility an EOE is recruiting an individual to fill a Journey Lineman Position. Ideal journey-level applicants must have a broad knowledge of electrical sub-stations and distribution systems, a certificate of completing of a 4-year apprenticeship program and a current CDL.  Position may require occasional after hour call-outs and possible work in inclement weather. Applicant must pass a drug test. Applicant must be able to respond to emergency situations in a reasonable response time and must reside within 15 miles of the Westby City limits with one year to relocate.  Knowledge of safety rules and good communication skills are very important. An excellent benefit package is provided to utility employees. Starting wage is $35.00- $38.00 per hour depending on experience.

The City of Menasha - Public Works Director
The City of Menasha is taking applications for the Public Works Director position.  
The Public Works Director is responsible for the successful operation of the City’s Public Works Department, including: Engineering, Streets, Sanitation, Fleet, Bridges, and Sewer and Storm Water Utilities.  The Director will lead thirty employees and department interns.  An ideal candidate will possess technical knowledge, strong leadership and management skills, vision for the future, ability to manage multiple projects, proven success in collaborating with others, and excellent oral and written communication skills.  This position is confirmed by the City Council and reports directly to the Mayor.  The Director exercises independent judgment, initiative, and discretion over all public works functions.  

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and certification as a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin.  Continuing involvement in professional development programs is expected.Experience in civil engineering and public works; knowledge of and experience in the following areas:  public works construction and operations, materials purchasing and management, equipment purchasing and management, principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to municipal public works, municipal utilities, and applicable laws, codes, and regulations.  Storm water engineering and construction experience is highly desired. Experience as a department director, assistant director, or senior project lead in a public agency of appropriate size and complexity is preferred.

Salary:  $85,535-$104,450 and attractive benefits.

Director of Public Works/City Engineer 

The City of Plymouth is taking applications for a Director of Public Works/City Engineer position.  The Director of Public Works/City Engineer is responsible for the successful operation of the City’s Public Works Department and Water/Sewer Divisions of Plymouth Utilities including; building maintenance, engineering, sanitation, recycling, storm sewer, water and sewer utilities, forestry, cemeteries, parks and recreation facilities, and other public works projects and programs.

Line Clearance I
-  Plymouth Utilities is seeking a qualified person for the position of a full-time Line Clearance I.  Under the direction of the Electrical Operations Manager, the primary responsibilities are performing a variety of tasks involved in trimming and removal of trees to prevent interference with electric lines and stations.  They will also perform tasks involved in the construction and maintenance of the electric power distribution system.

Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW) - Job Training and Safety Instructor
If safety is your passion and you want to take your career to the next level, Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin (MEUW) is where you need to be! We are currently seeking a highly motivated, ambitious and outgoing individual to serve as a job training and safety instructor in Wisconsin. MEUW is the state association representing the interests of Wisconsin’s locally owned, locally controlled municipal electric utilities. The association has been providing service, advocacy and safety initiatives to municipal electric utilities in Wisconsin since 1928.

 
As a job training and safety instructor you will provide professional development, continuing education, and safety training services to apprentice and journeyman lineman at 15-20 locations statewide. The primary function of this position is to provide electric lineman training instruction along with safety compliance through educational sessions, workshops and seminars. Daily travel is required with some overnight travel (dependent on residence location in relation to work locations through state). The successful candidate will hold a journeyman lineman certificate or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years practical electric lineman experience. This position requires effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred. Must have an insurance acceptable driver's license.
 
This position is one of two instructor positions that split the state of Wisconsin. Residency location is flexible within the state however should be south of State Highway 29 where the majority of our member locations reside. This position is also part of a larger safety team totaling thirteen safety professionals serving the occupational safety needs of our member utilities.

JOB ANALYSIS
This position receives general supervision from the director of safety services. Decisions regarding daily work activity are made independently within the context of established policies and procedures.

I) Serve as a safety information resource regarding electric industry issues including new and existing OSHA, NESC, and other applicable standards and regulations.
 
PERIPHERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A) Serve as a member of various staff committees, as assigned.
B) Attend professional development workshops and conferences to maintain knowledge base and track trends and developments in the electric utility industry.
C) Assist the Director of Safety Services, as needed.
D) Work outside of normal hours when necessary.
E) Travel and overnight stay, as needed.
