City of River Falls - Journeyman Lineworker

Black River Falls Municipal Utilities - Hydroelectric Dam Operator
The City of Black River Falls Municipal Utilities (Electric Division) is seeking a responsible, knowledgeable, and highly motivated self-starter for a full-time Hydroelectric Operator position. This position reports to the Electric Operating Superintendent. This position requires physical, technical, and administrative capabilities. Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
The primary responsibilities include the safe operation of a six-gated spillway and the operation and maintenance of three hydroelectric generating units. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the ability to respond to emergency situations and call-outs, an understanding of regulatory and operational requirements, occasional assistance provided to the electric distribution line crews, single and poly-phase electric meter testing, as well as other similar or related duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will have a high school diploma and a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Electric Power Distribution, Engineering, Energy Production, Mechanics, Electrical Wiring, or a related field. State of Wisconsin Journeyman Line Tech status or a State Licensure in any of the aforementioned disciplines may be recognized as an equivalency. A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and a pre-employment drug screen and physical are required. A WI CDL Class ABCD is required within ninety (90) days of hire. Columbus Water & Light Department - Water Utility Worker
The Columbus Water & Light Department is accepting applications for the position of Water Utility Worker. For this position, a few of the most important qualifications are: dependability, a strong work ethic, computer competency, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.

Specific duties include: 
daily water plant readings / testing; maintaining water plants and water plant equipment; install, test, maintain all sizes of water meters; turning valves; flushing and maintaining of hydrants; making repairs to damaged mains, services, hydrants and valves; install water valves or hydrants;tapping water main for new water services; operate dump truck hauling materials and equipment to / from the job site; operate hydro-vactor truck for hydro excavation activities; assist in backfilling excavations; stock work vehicle with necessary supplies; other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position also requires the employee to be frequently available for emergency response off-shift work, 24/7. As well as participating in on-call weekend rotations every 4 to 5 weeks. 

Qualifications include: Working knowledge of water distribution systems, chemical addition to water, working knowledge of back hoe, skid loader and dump truck operation and maintenance; knowledge of motor vehicle laws; familiarity with construction zone safety practices and procedures; and ability to follow instructions. Possession of a valid Wisconsin Commercial "Class A" Drivers License without air brake restrictions and with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within one year from hire. 

Desirable Training and Experience: WDNR Water Supply Operator Certification in Groundwater, Distribution, Iron Removal and Zeolite Softening or the ability to become certified within one year (required).

Marshfield Utilities - Power Systems Supervisor
Municipally-owned Marshfield Utilities is recruiting for an individual to fill a Power Systems Supervisor position.  This position is responsible to assist with the study and design of electric distribution system additions and changes, and perform general engineering related projects. Supervise the operation and maintenance of the substations, electric metering, and combustion turbine generator.
Minimum qualifications include a related Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of job experience in utility and operations, electrical engineering, or electrical power systems; OR, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
