The City of Arcadia, Wisconsin seeks an energetic applicant for the position of Full-Time Assistant Plant Engineer for the Arcadia Electric Utility. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of the requirements and operation needs of diesel engines and associated equipment. This employee will assist the line crew with construction, maintenance, and/or repair work as needed. Accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality is required. The successful candidate will have the unique combination of a technical degree in diesel mechanics from an accredited trade school or at least two years relevant experience, combined with the willingness to be trained as a journeyman lineworker.

Apprentice/Journeyman Substation Technician

Menasha Utilities is accepting applications for the position of an Apprentice or Journeyman Substation Technician.  Menasha Utilities is a Wisconsin municipal utility serving over 9,100 electric customers in a community of 17,437. 

The Apprentice or Journeyman Substation Technician is a skilled trade which is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment at the distribution substations and other facilities elsewhere within the Utility and Municipality.  The position is also responsible for the administrative, technical and supervisory control involving the operation of the Utilities Electrical Distribution System.
Work involves the installation, trouble shooting, maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment located in Electrical Distribution Substations, Water Filtration and Distribution Facilities, office complexes and other municipal facilities.  Work also includes monitoring and controlling load flows on the Electric Distribution System.  This position acts as the System Operator for the Utilities Electrical Distribution System, during all planned and unplanned outages.  This position is responsible for dispatching crews and issuing clearances on the system to allow crews to work safely.

Electric Manager
Menasha Utilities is accepting applications starting May 4 for the position of Electric Manager. Menasha Utilities is a Wisconsin municipal utility serving over 9,100 electric customers in a community of 17,437. The Electric Manager is responsible for overall operation of the distribution system, including planning, budgeting, construction and field work, maintenance and supervision.
Work involves direct responsibility for planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating all utility services activities, electric distribution construction, projects, street lighting, maintenance and other activities. Work also includes resolving customer service problems and reliability issues.  Supervision over employees in the Distribution, Substations, and Operations functions in the Electric Department. Work is performed under the supervision of the General Manager, and is reviewed through conferences and reports.
Utility fleet management responsibilities include purchasing, administration, operation and maintenance oversight of fleet vehicles at the office complex and other off-site facilities.   
Utility services responsibilities include the coordination, administration, operation, and maintenance of the office and operations facility and other off-site facilities with a basic understanding of various types of construction methods and practices, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and building management controls and software.
